We have searched a lot of different trekking companies and after talking and exchanging many emails with Renato; we made a decision to book with his company. One of our primary reasons for choosing this company was a small, private, and boutique like feeling. He told us that he could service a small group of people as well as the big one. Other companies offered to put us in the only big groups, which we didn’t want or wanted to charge us a lot more money for our small group, which Renato didn’t do. There were only three of us in our private group and Renato did everything possible to make our trip safe and memorable. Prior to our trip, I had many questions and Renato was quick to reply to my emails and was extremely helpful. The equipment he supplied for us; tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, and portable toilet were in the excellent condition. We also hired 2 extra porters to carry our clothes and our sleeping bags.We had seven porters and a guide named Fernando and everyone made us feel so comfortable. Our friend is vegan and Renato made sure he had plenty delicious vegan food to eat. We are very grateful to him for his service.We cannot say enough about our wonderful porters, who made us feel very, very special. One morning they surprised us with a freshly baked cake! No, they didn’t have the oven, just tiny burners and a bottle of protein gas. Amazing!Please, if you choose to take such trip, don’t forget to tip those very hard working people. While we were carrying only our water packs and jacket, they carried huge, 20 kg bags up those high, high hills! Without them, we could never enjoy this trip as much as we did. Our guide, Fernando was fantastic and very informative. He shared with us a wonderful history, provided information on how local people live, their customs, the colorful Inca Trail itself, and many theories about the ruins we saw along the way, including our fantastic tour of Machu Picchu.   By planning your trip through Cusco-Native, you can be sure every detail will be taken care of professionally, and your money will be reinvested in the community – you can read more about it on his website.
