Our journey begins with hotel pick up early in the morning. The first stop will be the charming town of Chinchero, where we’ll admire expansive agricultural terraces that have been cultivated since ancient times. From there, we travel along the scenic Piuray Lagoon, heading toward the community of Tauca (3,762 meters above sea level), where our hike begins. We’ll follow a dirt trail with a gradual incline, leading us to the Pucajasa Pass (4,393 meters above sea level).
From this vantage point, we’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Urubamba mountain range. The pass itself stretches about 200 meters. As we begin our descent, we’ll encounter segments of the historic Inca Trail and observe striking changes in ecological zones. At Huchuy Qosqo (3,688 m), we'll explore the site. Then, we'll descend to Lamay (2,938 m) to enjoy our lunch and head back to Cusco, arriving at your hotel in the evening.
