Your day bergins with an early pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. From there, we’ll embark on a scenic 3.5-hour drive in a comfortable private van to the community of Pacchanta, located at 4,200 meters (13,779 feet) above sea level. Since this journey takes place early in the morning at higher altitudes, be prepared with warm clothing for the cooler temperatures. At Pacchanta, enjoy a hearty breakfast before hiking into the Vilcanota Range, where the stunning Ausangate Glacier and its colorful lakes await.
The trek covers about 3.5 hours uphill, visiting each of the Seven Lakes, which are spaced 30 minutes to an hour apart. These include stunning spots like Otorongo Macho, Otorongo hembra, Puca cocha, Alqa cocha, Ccomer cocha, Azul cocha and Pata cocha, each offering unique beauty against the backdrop of towering peaks in the Vilcanota range.
After exploring the lakes and soaking in the splendor of the Andes, you’ll return to Pacchanta, where the natural hot springs offer the perfect place to relax your muscles and reflect on the day. A delicious lunch will be served, rounding out the experience before heading back to Cusco. We’ll drop you off at your hotel at night, concluding a memorable journey through one of Peru’s most breathtaking landscapes.
