Our first stop is the historic Inca site of Ollantaytambo, once a military, religious, and agricultural center. On arrival, we enjoy breakfast and explore the town’s Inca charm, with cobblestone streets and an ancient irrigation system. We continue with a challenging yet rewarding hike to the Cachicata quarry, a historic site in the mountains that supplied andesite stones for the temples of Ollantaytambo. Explore the intricacies of the site, from the grandeur of the quarry to the fascinating chullpas (ancient tombs) and the innovative stone transport ramps.
We pause for a box lunch amid the stunning scenery of the Sacred Valley, surrounded by the history and beauty of the Cachicata quarry. Then, We venture on a trek to Inti Punku, a high viewpoint with panoramic views of the Sacred Valley and Nevado Veronica.This spot is not merely a vantage point; it's a rendezvous with the mystical and enchanting aura that pervades this special region. We descend to the Cachicata community, enjoying fresh views, then transfer through Ollantaytambo back to Cusco for a hotel drop-off.
